By making a bequest in your will, you ensure the association has a lasting gift from you. Your bequest can be a specific sum of money, or a gift-in-kind, such as artwork, securities, or real estate. Your estate will receive a tax receipt for the value of your bequest, thereby reducing income tax payable by your estate. You can also name the Manitoba Chapter of the Canadian Hard of Hearing Association as the beneficiary of an RRSP or RRIF or other financial instruments. Your bequest entitles your estate to a charitable donation tax receipt. When planning a bequest, please discuss your plan with your legal and financial advisors and with CHHA Manitoba Chapter executive to ensure that any administrative requirements are in place.
