CJNU 97.3 Radio Interviews

May is Speech and Hearing month.

CHHA-Manitoba is working hard to educate Manitoba’s hard of hearing community and their families about ways to manage this chronic health condition. More than 10% of the population has hearing loss, but many find it difficult to realize that they struggle to hear and live lives filled with frustration and loneliness. To help the association get their message out to the community, Grant Patterson of CJNU 97.3 has conducted interviews with four chapter members. We encourage you to listen to these different stories about hearing problems and how they can be managed effectively.

Geoff Fierce and his hearing support dog Nestle

Gladys Nielsen who has a cochlear implant – a device that serves those who cannot be helped by using hearing aids

Randy Horel who has severe tinnitus (ringing, buzzing or other sounds in the ears)
